The values you hold, are there for a reason…
Tabitha Shumate, MS, MFT-I
Meet Tabitha
Hello and welcome… I am a Christian counselor who strives to help guide and direct you to a place of healing. This place of healing is sometimes imagined, and not fully recognized or experienced.
I have my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Lee University and I am certified in TF-CBT. It is a joy to help people overcome obstacles. Those dealing with social anxieties, sadness, loss of direction, confusion. past trauma, family drama, relationship distress have the capability to experience change. Hope and healing are closer than you think.
Getting to this point in your life may feel like you are giving in to weakness, which is okay to feel. The truth is, disappointment doesn’t have to keep you from living out your future.

Counseling
My specialties include increasing motivation and hope towards reaching your goals. I offer guidance in helping you move towards your potential and understand what your purpose and direction could be. I have over 8 years experience in counseling/mentoring, working with adolescents, teens, young adults and older adults. The validation and acceptance you receive will empower you to see the opportunities that will create your change. At this time, I am currently accepting clients. Don't wait another day to reach out. Looking forward to hearing from you!
At times symptoms from anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and depression that follows, can hinder our ability from living the life we want, especially when feeling vulnerable and misunderstood. This affects our relationships, parenting, friendships, marriages, career, social life, and living out our fullest potential. If your struggling with a thought life that leans more on the negative side and doesn't line up with who you are or who you want to be, I can help.
